Tech Companies That Do Dollar-Pegged Salaries in Sri Lanka

Companies in Sri Lanka, particularly those in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry, have begun to opt for dollar-pegged salaries in the face of double-digit inflation, and more employees want their employers to follow suit the same.

As many employees are expressing their concerns about the impact of currency depreciation on domestic pricing levels, Sri Lankan companies are now opting for the dollar-pegged salary scheme to ensure that their employees’ living standards are not jeopardized as a result of unusual macroeconomic conditions.

Recently, Sri Lanka Open University Electrical and Computer Engineering Lecturer Indrajith Ekanayake conducted a survey to find out the companies that do dollar-pegged Salaries in Sri Lanka. In his survey with the professionals working at the Sri Lankan companies, he found 53 Sri Lankan companies that pegged salaries in USD, EURO, AUD, GBP, SGD, SDK (Swedish Krona), and BTC (Bitcoin).
