The Institute of Music Speech & Speaking Skills is an Examinations Body providing children and adults throughout Sri Lanka with the opportunity of following a course of education in the following subjects according to a set Syllabus which is approved by the STSD (Society of Teachers of Speech & Drama UK). Speaking Skills, Writing Skills, Speech & Drama, Prose Reading, Group Verse Speaking, Group & Solo Acting and a Diploma in Speech & Drama Education.

The Institute of Music Speech & Speaking Skills (IMSSS) is an examinations body for theory and practical examinations in Speaking Skills, Speech and Drama and Western Music. The Sri Lanka Festival For the Performing Arts is a competition held annually for both Speech & Drama and Music. It provides your children with an opportunity to perform in public and to show his/her skills to a large audience.



Your child could enter for a range of categories from Verse Speaking, Group Drama, Prose Reading , Solo Acting, Television & Radio News Reading, Story Telling and Pubic Speaking for the Speech Festival held from May- June. For the Music Festival Held in August they could play and instrument of their preference or enter for Solo Singing or even Choirs or Bands.

    Speech and Drama is geared to give children confidence in communicating and performing effectively in the field of drama. A panel of qualified teachers covers a wide syllabus, consisting of Speech and Drama, Spoken English, Mime etc. Individual attention is given to students within small groups, in order to develop the student's skills and correct their language defects.
