The Sri Lanka Media Training Institute is an autonomous establishment under the Ministry of Mass Media and Information. It was founded in 1984 as the Sri Lankan Television Training Institute to train professionals in the field of television. As SLMTI they have an expanded mandate and work in all areas of the media, including print, radio, television, film, web and social media.
SLMTI offer a set of Diplomas and Certificate courses in the catering all aspects of the media industry, targeting aspiring media professionals in the areas of television, radio, journalism, film, web and graphic design, news reading, presentation and others. The courses are taught by acclaimed media professionals, practitioners, academics and international experts.
The SLMTI has a state of the art multi-camera audiovisual studio with cutting-edge technology, digital editing training facilities of professional standards and computer laboratories. The studios and other facilities fulfill internal training requirements as well as production needs of external bodies. The institute provides the necessary expert training and work culture necessary to produce a skilled professional with hands-on industry experience and therefore students will be fully fledged professionals with an outstanding theoretical background on graduation. This popular institute provides their students about the content of Familiarization of Camera Parts and Practical Exercises, Shot Selection and Definition, Techniques in Multi-Camera Production, Lighting Techniques, Sound Recording, Lenses, and Filter Selections.
The duration of this certificate course will be 20 days only at Monday and Tuesday.
This Course needs entry requirement as GCE Ordinary Level, Basic Computer knowledge will be a definite advantage, and The class size would be limited to a maximum of 15 students selected based on the required minimum qualifications.
