The Fat Crab

The Fat Crab restaurant strategically situated on Marine Drive is one of the popular crab-centric seafood restaurants in Colombo city. Even though just about everything in the restaurant’s menu is seafood-centric, they also offer a variety of meats dishes like chicken, beef, lamb and a few varieties of vegetarian dishes for their diners. With that, the fat crab also serves a good range of juices, mocktails, beer and wine.

The Fat Crab restaurant has pretty good service as the waiters here knew their way around the menu, so, gave recommendations according to our eating preferences, and that’s quite efficient. It’ll take around 20 to 30 minutes to prepare our ordered dishes, I think which is pretty acceptable. The restaurant is furnished with wooden tables and chairs with a wall full of vintage movie posters. The Fat Crab ambience is awesome because sitting in this restaurant you can catch the spectacular view of Bambalapitiya coastline with a bit of sea breeze and a lot of natural light.

Spicy Negombo Devilled Crab, Baked Crab and the Garlic Butter Crab are some of the popular crab dishes in the restaurant. Spicy Negombo Devilled Crab goes well with Crusty Kade Paan, Dhal, Butter and Pol Sambol which is an absolute delight for your taste buds on the other hand Garlic Butter Crab taste more delicious with Vegetable Fried Rice and Stir-fried Kan Kung. We all know garlic always creates a great and delicious blend with seafood, and the Garlic Butter Crab right here is no exception.
